Your CommunityCypress Creek EMS provides various avenues for injury prevention education in the community. The CCEMS Education Ambulance, funded by a grant from the Tenet Foundation, is an important tool in the public education process. The ambulance is used solely for education. All ages benefit from the information provided by this unit. Safety education such as how to call 9-1-1, proper use of bike helmets, correct fit for car seats, and the equipment used by paramedics in an emergency are incorporated into this teaching ambulance. Tours of the CCEMS Communications Center, first aid seminars, and car seat inspections are also available for schools and a variety of youth community service organizations. Paid and volunteer staff attend over 100 public events annually. These events allow CCEMS to educate approximately 15,000 people each year.
Special Events are held each year to help financially support the CCEMS scholarship program in the CCEMS service area. The FM 1960 St. Patrick’s Day Parade is going on its 32nd year. Approximately 100,000 people attend the event to view a spectacular parade and support CCEMS.
Other events include chili cook-offs and a golf tournament. These events, sponsored by gracious local companies, are extremely important to the success of our education programs. For more information contact Jennifer Clemonds at 281-378-0800 ext. 832. |
